PUMPING SYSTEM ASSESSMENT
The TAS Online Initial Pumping System Survey specifies the information required for each pump in the system. Any pump with an electric motor size of 37 kW or larger should be included in this Survey.
This form is provided as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, which can be downloaded here and must be filled out to provide TAS Online with the information required to produce a quote to undertake a Pumping System Assessment.
The Survey comprises two sections:
- Information essential in order to proceed with the quotation (shaded on form)
- Optional information which, if available, would reduce the amount of work to be undertaken by the assessment team, and thus the cost of the assessment.
Essential Data
- Company name
- Description of the business unit (e.g. company, shaft, concentrator, pump station, etc)
- Pump description / application (e.g. dewatering, cyclone feed, pumping to reservoir, etc)
- Pump model
- Serial number
- Installed motor rating (kW)
Optional Data
- Pump percent utilisation (or annual operating hours)
- Time in service (in years)
- Control method (e.g. control valve, variable speed drive, by-pass, fixed duty)
- Live Operational Data
- The instrumentation installed on each pump (e.g. pressure transducers, flow meters, power meters)
- Any live data that is currently being measured (e.g. actual pump flow rate).
- Pump Symptoms
- This section serves to highlight problem or critical pumps to focus on during the assessment.
- Any information that can be filled in here will be of great benefit in identifying pumps that require immediate attention, and may thus add to the value of the Assessment Report.
- Additional Information
- The more background information that is available for each pump the more accurate and successful the assessment will be
- Original design duty (flow and head)
- Pump performance curve
- Process flow diagrams (PIDs)
- Maintenance that has been carried out on the pump.
